At Fullers360 our crew are split into four levels of progression ranging from entry level with no experience needed right through to Skipper. If career growth is what you’re looking for, you can make the most of our marine training programme where you’ll gain qualifications and progress through the ranks in as little as three years.
Onboard Services Crew (OBS)
Where your marine career at Fullers360 begins. Out on the water every day helping our passengers get to where they need to be. No experience needed, just a willingness to learn while you receive all the training you need.
Onboard Services Crew/Deckhand (OBSD)
The next progression from OBS where your responsibilities become more hands on. You’ll work with gangways, secondary lines, vessel safety and provide training and guidance to junior crew members.
Deckhand
Achieve your SRL and MEC5 and Deckhands can progress to also working on our larger vessels. As a Deckhand you’ll step up into a more leadership position leading safety on the vessel, checking engine rooms, loading and stowing cargo, preparing gangways and continuing to provide training and guidance to junior crew.
Skipper
Our most senior marine crew members. At this level you will be signed off on each individual vessel in the Fullers360 fleet where safety systems, handling and layouts vary from smaller to mid-sized and larger vessels. You will act a leader on the water provide critical guidance and feedback to junior crew as well liaise directly with the Operations, Logistics and Maintenance teams.

Maintenance Engineers and Marine Electricians
Our team of Maintenance Engineers and Marine Electricians ensure each and every vessel is ship shape and ready to operate across the destinations we travel to. Based at Orams Marine Village, our Maintenance look after all 21 of Fullers360’s vessels to ensure they are well-maintained and proactively managed. Whether that’s repairing to an unexpected vessel breakdown or planned maintenance, this team keep us moving.
In this team you’ll work on range of high-speed ferry and wharf facilities to ensure reliability, safety and availability of vessels. You’ll also ensure vessels are repaired to a high standard and in compliance with regulatory authorities and inspection.

Customer Experience
You don’t need any experience to join the Customer Experience teams, just a friendly smile and a willingness to learn while you receive all the training you need.
Customer Care
This team is the first touch point for customers who give us a call or send an email. In this team you’ll be well-across all Fullers360 destinations, experiences, tours and timetables to be able answer any questions our customers may have.

Our incredible team of Logistics Specialists and Shore Services Assistants play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our services managing the daily movements of our vessels and crew.
Logistics
You’ll look after a range of tasks including adjusting daily schedules for unplanned crew absences and changes in vessel movements, coordinating the daily movements of vessels and crew, maintaining crucial communications with internal teams throughout the day and ensuring any delays in services are mitigated and managed accordingly.
Shore services
This team keep our vessels and people fully stocked and prepared with everything they need to keep our services running smoothly. Many of our vessels have on board cafes and this team makes sure each one is well-stocked with food and beverage. They also ensure any lost property is carefully taken care of provide our customer facing employees with the right uniform they need for their roles. Fullers360 also provides a freight service to and from Waiheke Island which this team manages as well.

With Waiheke Bus Company you’ll carry passengers from all walks of life across the scenic island which will require you to clearly communicate in English and take the time to understand visitors with English as a second language.

Summer crew
Over the busy summer period (October – April) we provide the opportunity to gain valuable tourism experience while working on the water. Summer crew support our permanent teams on the wharf, on board vessels and on Waiheke as explorer bus tour guides. To find out more about joining Fullers360 this summer please email HR@fullers.co.nz.
Fullers360 Ambassador
Part of the Customer Experience team, our Fullers360 Ambassadors look after our customers before they step on board. In this team you’ll be the friendly face of Fullers360 helping customers to get to where they need to be. This might include being in one of our ticket offices selling ferry tickets or packages for our experiences and tours. Or you may be a little closer to the action at departure piers scanning tickets or running biosecurity briefings for passengers heading to conservation islands.

At Fullers360 we offer three apprenticeships with a clear pathway to become a qualified marine electrician, marine engineer or bus mechanic.
You will learn on the job to achieve qualifications needed to excel in your role. All training is free of charge and factored into your learning and development program.
In each apprenticeship program where you will gain real life experience while being supported in your studies by our team of highly skilled senior engineers. You’ll become familiar with electric vehicles and electric vessels and become certified at the end
