As the weather warms up and summer approaches, we’re gearing up for our annual switch to the peak season timetable. Our timetables for Waiheke and Rangitoto Islands will change on Monday, October 21. Each year we routinely make this change, providing additional frequency to support increased passenger volume and making the travel experience smoother throughout the busy season.

Waiheke Walk-up
We are adding an additional 48 trips to the Waiheke Walk-up service per week, providing a total of 321 sailings between Waiheke Island and Downtown Auckland every week. Within the Waiheke Walk-up timetable, we will provide up to 44 services per day, (increasing up to 50 services a day in weekend peak). This caters to transport of approximately 12,000–20,000 customers per day.
To support both frequent ferry users, and visitors alike, we will be operating with a half hour frequency during peak commute times and peak visitor times on the weekend.
With an expanded workforce, we’re pleased to bring back a dedicated Rangitoto Island ferry service. This means there will no longer be a ‘via Rangitoto’ service from Waiheke Island this summer, offering a more streamlined experience for both destinations.
Waiheke Reserve
After a successful first season, the Waiheke Reserve ferry is returning for its second season on Friday, October 25, with an expanded timetable. This service allows visitors to pre-book their travel, securing seats in advance—perfect for those with fixed schedules.
The Waiheke Reserve ferry helps manage demand by complementing the walk-up service and assists with managing summer volumes.

Rangitoto Island
Starting October 21, a dedicated service provides six sailings per day between Rangitoto Island and the Downtown Ferry Terminal, four of these daily sailings will also stop at Devonport for collection and drop-off.
